Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a process of collaborative working where multiple stakeholders can contribute to and retrieve information from a single, data rich 3D model of a project. We use this model to create coordinated drawings, schedules and views at all project stages from feasibility to construction then operation and maintenance. At DKA we have been using Autodesk® Revit® to generate BIM models since 2009 and have committed to train all architects and technicians in the software. Four team members recently became Certified Autodesk® Professionals in recognition of their skills.
DKA are working closely with clients, contractors and consultants to achieve Level 2 BIM maturity ahead of the UK Government 2016 deadline. We are a member of the Open BIM Network and we have adopted AEC(UK) BIM Protocols.
