As part of DKA’s appointment to design a new community hospital for Clevedon, we were asked to look at development opportunities for the vacated hospital site. The sale of the land would in part fund the construction of the new hospital on a brownfield site elsewhere in the town.
The residential development proposed would provide a variety of 3 and 4 bed houses in short terraces. These were designed to complement the surrounding Victorian properties in scale and detail. The original cottage hospital building was to be retained and converted to residential accommodation, while the surrounding less attractive later extensions and additions were to be demolished.
