DKA worked with Bristol City Council (BCC) to make several improvements to their offices at 100 Temple Street. Post-pandemic, and largely due to an increased level of working from home, BCC found that they were under-utilising their existing spaces and now only occupy the south wing of 100 Temple St, a large four-storey office block in central Bristol owned by the council. We were approached by BCC to help them deliver works required as a result of a recent accessibility audit and to design a new reception area to both provide a more welcoming environment for their staff, and increase the desirability of the remaining office spaces for new tenants.
Works so far have included:
- Improvements to the rear car park
- Conversion of an existing lift to allow full building access for users of motorised wheelchairs.
- Re-provision of refreshment points impacted by lift works.
- Redecoration and upgrade of refreshment points to vacant office space.
- External works to improve accessibility to the building.
- Assistance with refurbishment to welfare facilities.
- Creation of a smart new reception area, providing staff and visitors with a fitting entrance to the building.
