Following the success of previous projects with The McAvoy Group, DKA were excited to have the opportunity to work with the same team at Antrim Area Hospital for the Northern Health and Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland.
The project provides two new ward blocks, a link building connecting both wards with the existing hospital buildings, two new office blocks and a traditionally built substation. There was also a significant amount of landscaping and reconfiguration of car parking required round each building.
Each ward block provides 24 beds in a mix of 4 bed wards and single rooms, along with the necessary ancillary facilities: Treatment Room, Dispensing base, Clean & Dirty Utilities, Offices etc. The office buildings provide a range of office sizes, from individual up to 8 person offices, along with a meeting room and staff welfare facilities.
